Prepare yourself to fulfill your dream of riding in Ladakh through an exhilarating bike trip that combines excitement, stunning natural beauty, and the rich culture of “The Land of High Passes”. 

This tour provides the opportunity to stay in the midst of the picturesque mountain valley, and enjoy the starry night sky. One of the unique features of the Ladakh terrain is that it encompasses mountains, forests, deserts, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls, all within one stunning and dynamic geography.

Inclusions:

  • Depending on the variant selected, the bike used will be a 500cc Standard/RE Himalayan/KTM 390 Adventure.
  • You will be picked up and dropped off at the airport according to your flight schedule. 
  • Accommodation will be provided in standard hotels/camps on a double (for couples and special requests) and triple sharing basis at all locations. 
  • Buffet breakfast and dinner will be provided, starting with dinner on the first day and ending with breakfast on the last day, as per the itinerary. 
  • Fuel for the entire trip as per the itinerary will be provided. Inner line permits and Ladakh Union fee are guaranteed. 
  • The tour will be led by an experienced tour captain on a bike and an experienced mechanic for daily maintenance. 
  • Basic spare parts change in the bike during the tour will be provided (front/rear tube/spark plug/clutch & brake wire/engine oil). 
  • A backup vehicle (SUV/Traveler/Bolero Camper) will be provided from day 3 to carry your luggage and spare parts. 
  • A standard size helmet will be provided for the rider and the pillion. Oxygen cylinder and Basic First-Aid will be provided during the tour. 
  • An evening bonfire will be arranged in Nubra. 
  • Driver expenses/toll tax/fuel/parking charges are included.

Leh Ladakh Bike Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Srinagar - Kargil

Begin the journey in the morning from Srinagar, drive through the picturesque Sonamarg valley and Zojila Pass. Take a halt at Drass, which is the world’s second coldest inhabited place, for lunch and explore the Kargil War Memorial situated in Drass.

Resume the journey towards Kargil. Arrive in Kargil in the evening and check into a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 kargil - leh

Arrive in Leh and be greeted by a representative who will help you transfer smoothly to your hotel. After completing check-in formalities, take some time to rest and acclimate to the climate. Attend a short briefing and collect your bikes. In the evening, start your sightseeing by visiting the Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and the local Leh market. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 local sightseeing in leh

Have breakfast and get ready for an adventurous ride to Sham Valley. Visit the Hall of Fame, Spituk Gompa, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Indus Sangam Viewpoint, and SECMOL. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4 leh - nubra valley

After breakfast, embark on an ultimate adventure that will take you through some of the highest passes in the world, including Khardung-La Pass. Stop at the cafe on the pass and take in the views. Descend from the pass and experience a change in landscape as you enter the Nubra Valley. If time permits, visit the Diskit Monastery and enjoy a Bactrian camel ride. Spend the night camping under the stars.

Day 5 nubra valley to pangong lake

After breakfast, head to Pangong Lake on the Indo-China border. Spend the day exploring the surroundings of the lake and recreating famous Bollywood moments. Overnight stay at a campsite near the lake.

Day 6 pangong lake - leh

Wake up to the beautiful Pangong Lake view and have breakfast. Visit Chang-la Pass, Changla Baba Temple, Druk Padma School, and Thiksey Monastery en-route back to Leh. Rest and have dinner at the hotel.

Day 7 leh - kargil

Depart from Leh in the morning and drive towards Kargil via the NH1D, also known as the Srinagar-Leh Highway. En route, you’ll cross some breathtakingly beautiful places like Lamayuru, Fotu La, and Namik La passes. You’ll also get to visit the famous Magnetic Hill and the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers at Nimmu. After reaching Kargil, check-in to your hotel and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 8 leh - srinagar

After breakfast, depart from Kargil and drive towards Srinagar via the NH1D. En route, you’ll cross some scenic places like Drass, which is the second coldest inhabited place on Earth, and the Kargil War Memorial. You’ll also get to see the picturesque Sonamarg and the famous Zojila Pass. After reaching Srinagar, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, as per your preference.

Things to know Before you go for Leh Ladakh Bike Trip

  • All postpaid networks available.
  • Availability of breakfast in the hotel on the first and last day of the trip depends on the arrival and departure timings of the guests.
  • It is advisable for each member to limit their baggage to one rucksack.
  • The only active mobile networks in the region are JIO, Airtel, and BSNL.
  • The hotels are subject to availability, and if they are not available, travelers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard.
  • Kashmir Travelogue reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to disturbances like weather conditions or political situations, without compromising any services or changing the total number of days.
  • A refundable security deposit of INR 10,000/- needs to be submitted for the bike, and any damage to the bike will be borne by the client.
  • The airport pick-up and drop will be done in Eeco/Van/Innova/Xylo vehicles, which will be decided on the spot by the taxi union according to availability.
  • Travelers must follow the COVID guidelines issued by the state government, including RT-PCR testing, social distancing, and frequent hand sanitization.
  • An oxygen cylinder and backup vehicle will be provided from day 3 of the tour, and travelers are advised to acclimatize themselves to the high altitudes.
  • It is recommended to consult a physician before undertaking the tour and carry basic medications and a first-aid kit.
  • Any liability for changes in the itinerary due to reasons beyond the operator’s control, such as changes in flight or train schedules, cancellations, political disturbances, natural phenomena, or roadblocks, will not be included in the package cost.
  • No refund will be processed if the tour or a particular activity is not completed due to any natural or personal reason.
  • Travelers must pay attention to the tour guides and instructors to ensure a safe and enjoyable tour.
  • Entry tickets for stupas, monasteries, sightseeing, state and entry fees, monument entrances, camera charges, permits, etc., are not included in the package.
  • Travelers are advised to carry enough cash as there are fewer ATMs in high-altitude regions, and long queues are common.
  • All travelers are requested to carry a copy of their medical certificate (if any) with them.
  • If a traveler decides to leave the trip in the middle, all expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveler, and neither the operator nor Kashmir Travelogue will be responsible for any refund.
  • If a rider leaves the bike in the middle of the trip, charges for re-transporting the bike to the destination will be borne by the rider.
  • If roads are blocked due to landslides or any reason beyond control during a bike trip, Kashmir Travelogue will rearrange the itinerary for travelers, but the cost of alternative accommodation will be borne by the customer.
  • Travelers should check their bikes properly before every day’s ride and inform the tour guide of any issues.
  • It is essential to carry a driver’s license, wear helmets and riding gear while riding a bike.
  • For safety reasons, a biking tour is not recommended for women who are more than 3 months pregnant, anyone who has had major surgery or has a broken leg/arm, or anyone with chronic back or neck pains.
